How much education and background do you want your real estate salesperson to have?

The State of Indiana requires that a real estate salesperson have only 54 hours of education to handle what is most likely the biggest, most important financial transaction you will ever make. Is that enough? DO YOU TRUST SOMEONE WITH ONLY 54 HOURS OF EDUCATION TO HANDLE THE PURCHASE OF YOUR HOME?

Selling or buying a home in today's market is a complex process. A good agent must know marketing, financial programs, appraising, the legal implications of contract negotiations, mortgage information, how to read and interpret title work so you get proper title to the home you buy or sell, how to navigate the mortgage maze, what to look for at the critical moment of passing title-the closing and much more. I am an Attorneyand a Broker and my education includes many more hours of work than is required for a Broker's license. Here are just a few of the courses required in law:

45 hours            Real property I                          45 hours            Real property II

45 hours           Contracts I                                45 hours            Contract II

45 hours           Real estate transactions 45 hours           Estates

plus much more. In addition, I maintain continuing education to maintain my standing in real estate and law.
